About Us
The chef behind the scenes of Your Friendly Neighbourhood Chef is Haleel Barroo. Haleel started his culinary journey at Humber College where he placed 5th at the Ontario Skills competition, and was selected to participate in the Decadence Culinary competition. Through the years, Haleel has worked in 6 sectors of the food industry, which has expanded his skill and passion for the culinary arts.

Since 2020 was a tough year for the hospitality industry (and everyone else), Haleel wanted to use his skills not only to help essential workers, but make life a little bit easier for everyone.
The most important aspect of Haleel's life is his family. Haleel has an amazing wife and a beautiful daughter and son. This is how Haleel came up with the family meal prep idea. Spending time with your family is so important, so let us take care of the cooking for you!
